Nestled
at the base of the Limestone Marble Range in the Central British Columbia
community of Clinton is the Cariboo Lodge. Constructed of immense
spruce logs topped with a cedar shake roof, this authentically rustic
inn offers confortable accommodations in 20 rooms, a formal dining room
a simple country
cafe and a western saloon for evening entertainment. The building
sits on the site of the original Cariboo Lodge, built in the early
1900s at Mile 47 on the historic Cariboo Wagon Road to serve Gold
Rush miners and trappers.
Located a four-and-one-half hour drive
north of Vancouver, BC . Sunny warm summers in the Clinton area
provide the perfect opportunity to explore the South Cariboo, discover
its cowboys and Gold Rush Heritage, try fishing for rainbow trout
in the many area trout lakes, mountain biking, hiking,
backpacking, horse riding, & rock climbing. Winter outdoors recreation
includes snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. Surrounded by majestic BC wilderness scenery,
any time is a great time for nature and landscape photography.
